Nissan took one of the first initiatives in the self-driving segment. In 2013, it showed off a prototype at the Nissan 360 event in California and said that it will launch a “highly-automated” vehicle by 2020. Fast forward to November 2019, Nissan’s self-driving car, the Nissan Leaf, completed the longest autonomous journey taken on the roads of the United Kingdom. 5. Argo AI

Argo AI, a self-driving technology platform, has received over 2 billion dollars in investments from Ford and Volkswagen. Argo AI is envisioned by the two investors to be a manufacturer of self-driving technology for other brands. It will initially manufacture the tech for delivery firms and autonomous taxi services. It also has future plans to sell to consumers.
